“Latino
Dance World Championship” in Nauders at Reschenpass
The Tyrolean
Oberland is “step by step“ becoming the dance mecca of the Alps. The hosting of
the 5th Latino Dance world Championships (July 7-13, 2008), that brings the
elite Latin dancers to Nauders, has definitely earned Nauders a place among the
great. Approximately 1500 of the world’s best dance couples are expected to
partake in this mega event. It will be all about salsa, merengue, jitterbug,
bachata, but also disco hustle, fox, swing and blues in the World Championship
Hall in Nauders. Noteworthy is also that during this FESTIVAL OF LATIN DREAMS,
the official Swedish and international championships in Swedish BUGG take place.
Dance groups
like Rueda de Casino, synchronized dancing and Latin show teams add another
dimension of rhythm to the event. The famous dance school Polai from Innsbruck
is hosting the event. The school has earned many awards and recognition in
Austria and beyond, and was recently to be seen on ORFs hit TV-show Dancing
Stars. Ferry Polai is also the official representative for the International
Dance Organization (IDO), and assigned as such this dance event to Nauders. IDO
was founded 1981 in Florence, and has today representatives all over the world.
The organization holds European and World Championships for professional and
amateur dancers in all dance categories. In connection with the world
championship, the IDO and Ferry Polai host a Dance Congress in Nauders (July
7-9, 2008) with world-famous dance experts. (For more info visit
